How to Channel Anger Within & Be Massively Productive

By Jaime Kulaga | May 21, 2018

Anger, desire for revenge and rage are very strong emotions. These emotions, if used for bad, can do harm and cause damage in your life on a multitude of levels. After all, "holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die" (Buddha). However, since these emotions are so powerful and full of energy, if channeled toward goals, dreams and the greater good, can soar you toward success.

Here Are 3 Ways to Take Your Anger Within & Be Massively Productive:

 1. Refocus Back To you: When we are raging mad at someone who hurt us, we spend our days and nights ruminating on that person and everything they did to hurt us. The focus is on them. Instead, shift the focus back to you. Take a step back and think about what you want out of your life. Set goals for yourself and begin taking steps to achieve those goals right away, today. The motivation and energy you can muster up in a body full of adrenaline can be intense and can propel you forward. Forget baby steps, this anger channeled toward being productive instead of vengeful can send you leaping toward your goals.

2. Get Physical: Now, more than ever, is a time where you need to feel sexy, handsome, beautiful and full of life. Nothing can make you feel as confident in your own skin like physical activity. Exercise allows you to minimize negative emotions and release endorphins (those feel-good neurotransmitters). Take the power of anger to run faster and lift more weight. As you work out, imagine your body transforming into what you want it to become. Exercise can also reduce stress, so that when you leave the gym, you are more mentally clear to make strong, solid decisions in a time that might be chaotic and upsetting.

3. Learn More About Yourself: During a time of anger and rage a man/woman shows their true character. It is how you handle these strong emotions that shows your true colors and level of integrity. It is okay to be angry, it is a normal emotion but the key is how you release that emotion and what you can take from a trying time in life. To really gain self-awareness, journal. You can say all those nasty things you want to say, in your journal. In your journal, you can voice all your concerns and even how pains in your past might be coming out now in your adult years. Write about your emotions, decisions and thoughts. Writing things out does two things at the very least. First, it allows you to vent and get emotions out safely. This can help minimize nightmares and panic attacks that can stem from a buildup of emotions. Second, it allows you to note patterns of thoughts and behaviors. Eventually, this pain and these emotions will pass. You can then look back at your writings and note patterns and better understand what led you to certain emotions, actions and reactions. You can use your past journal entries as a tool to help you be more self-aware in the present and to help you react differently moving forward.

6 Steps To Solving Your Problems

 By Christina Fenske |  May 03, 2018

Steps To Problem Solving:  There are many different methods to solving our problems. Often it's not enough to just get by or ignore our problems... we need to resolve them or they will keep resurfacing in our lives in one way or another. Majority of people work on solving their problems every day and every minute we are solving small to large problems we face in our jobs, with our family and other aspects of our life. An example of one of these decisions is what to eat when you get up in the morning and should you have cereal, or toast with jam. Or another decision we make is whether to sleep in an extra 20 minutes or not.

When we make any decision and attempt to solve a problem we consider each possible strategy, pick on and taken action in implementing our decision. Sometimes we may find that one strategy over another may end up being quite ineffective, so we may want to try another strategy. Most individuals that can deconstruct and define their problem, consider their options, make choices, and implement an action plan have the skills needed to effectively solve their problems. Research shows that individuals that follow a step-by-step procedure for deconstructing their problems, brainstorming solutions, implementing solutions which can make solving your problems seem less daunting and stressful.

Here is the 6 steps for solving your problems:

1. Identify the Problem and Define it: Clarify your problem. (ie. I don't have enough money to pay rent.) Define the problem by being specific about the behavior, situation, timing, and circumstances that make it a problem (ie. I need to pay for groceries, by phone bill, and I don't have enough money to pay for both this month.

2. Brainstorm Solutions: List as many potential solutions for your problem, without worrying about the quality of them. List at least 15-20 solutions, being creative and thinking outside the box. (Try not to overthink these)

3. Evaluate your Options: Go through each option and eliminate the less desirable one or unrealistic solutions. Reorder the remaining solutions in order of preference. Examine each options advantages and disadvantages to see what works best with your particular problem.

4. Choose a Solution: Specify who will take action. How the solution will be implemented. When it will be implemented (ie. tomorrow morning call the landlord to ask for an extension.)

5. Implement the Solution: Take your plan and proceed with it.

6. Examine your Outcome: Is it what you expected? Was it effective in resolving the problem? Will you need to revise the plan to attain a better outcome?

Should the outcome not be pleasing, what other possible solutions in your list may be more helpful. Start again at Step 2 to find a new solution or revise the current solution and repeat the remaining steps. Solving problems is a daily task and if you follow this process it can make it easier. There may be small problems that are small and can be solved easily while others may be more challenging to resolve. The more challenging problems can be resolved using this specific and strategic way of solving problems. Even still if you find solving your problems too difficult without any success, maybe if it can be left for a while and come back to it again because you may have a renewed outlook on the problem. Try these steps though first and see how they work for you and if they are helpful. Learning to solve your problems in a strategic way will minimize the amount that you struggle and become stressed out. Give it a try and see if it helps. Why We Benefit From SINCERE Leadership?

 By Richard Brody | January 20, 2021

After more than four decades, of involvement, in nearly all areas, related to leading, from identifying, qualifying, training, developing, and consulting, to well - over a thousand actual, and/ or, potential leaders, to serving, personally, as a leader, in various positions, I believe everyone benefits, when the leadership, is, truly, consistently, SINCERE! In order to inspire, motivate, and get stakeholders, to become loyal followers, one must clearly demonstrate, by his words, and actions, he is worthy, of being followed, and, shows, he is ready, willing, and able to earn their respect! With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why this matters.

 1. Service; sustainable; strengths/ stronger; solutions; system: Unless/ until, someone prioritizes service, and serving the best interests, of the group, and stakeholders, how can he possibly, be considered to be, worthy of following? He must, realistically, identify, both strengths and weaknesses, address areas of weakness, effectively, and use every strength, in a way, which makes the organization, stronger, etc! His solutions must be, both, relevant, and sustainable, and he must perceive and conceive of, create, develop, and implement, the best possible system, to bring his ideas, to fruition.

2. Integrity; ideals/ ideology; ideas; intentions: We need our leaders, to maintain, absolute integrity, and align their ideas, with the ideals, and ideology, of their specific organization, and constituents! Usually, we can learn a lot about the character of a potential leader, by clearly, reviewing his intentions, and rationale!

3. Needs: The primary focus of true leaders, must be relate, directly, to the actual, and perceived needs, of the specific group, and its stakeholders! There is no such thing as one - size - fits - all, when it comes to the necessities of effective, meaningful leadership!

4. Character; create; cooperate: If, before we chose any leader, we thoroughly, evaluated, and considered, someone's quality of character, an organization would benefit! Great leading comes from creating a situation, where cooperation was emphasized, a the priority, was to seek a meeting - of - the - minds, for the greater good!

5. Empathy; emphasis; efforts: Shouldn't a leader, effectively listen, and learn, from every conversation, and experience, in order to proceed with genuine empathy, and consistently, place his emphasis, and efforts, creating a plan, strategy, and actions, to proceed, forward, in the best, possible way?

6. Realistic; relevant; responsive/ responsible: You can't wear, rose - colored, glasses, and achieve what is needed, and necessary! Great leading must be relevant, responsive to needs, and responsible, in both, the short, and longer - term!

7. Excellence; endurance; energize: Good - enough, is not, the best way, to proceed! Great leaders must demand their utmost degree of personal excellence, and commitment, realizing, it takes endurance, to overcome obstacles, and challenges, and prioritizing, energizing, and serving, their constituents, and organization, to the best of one's abilities! There are several factors/ components, involved, in one's quest to become a true. effective, SINCERE leader! Will you be, up, to the tasks?

Why an Indomitable Will Is the Key to Success

 By Tony Fahkry | February 09, 2017

The Power of Resilience

A young man asked Socrates what the key to success was. So he invited him to meet at the river the following morning. There, he asked the young man to walk into the river with him. As the water made its way up to their necks, Socrates suddenly ducked him into the water. He struggled furiously, but Socrates kept him under until he turned blue in the face. The young man struggled to free himself but finally came up, gasping for air. "What did you want most when you were under water?" asked Socrates. "Air," the man replied. "That's the most important key to success. Wanting it as much as you want air. For only then will it be yours." This delightful tale underscores the message that success emanates from strong desire and inspired action. Success is a tough game because we assume it is linear. However, in real life it involves setbacks, failures, detours and minor victories. But the failures and setbacks deter people from realizing their dreams.

Mental and emotional resilience is essential to overcome these obstacles. "Resilience and Motivation are two of the critical abilities for which Winner's Brains are wired," state authors Jeff Brown and Mark Fenske in The Winner's Brain: 8 Strategies Great Minds Use to Achieve Success. Resilience is associated with the Navy Seals who undergo rigorous training known as BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) during their initiation. The training eliminates a large portion of candidates due to the mental, emotional and physical demands placed on new recruits. It is this same resilience that must be summoned to chase your dreams. You must develop an unquestionable will to succeed, no matter the setbacks that will arise. A strong determination is fuelled by a powerful force encouraging you to endure in the face of setbacks. I call it having a compelling Why? Your Why is your motivation to succeed. It is the reason you rise above your challenges when it matters most.

I don't believe life tests us so much as it prepares us for what is to come. "If you rise from a fall once, you become that much more confident you can rise again," affirms author Sam Weinman in Win at Losing: How Our Biggest Setbacks Can Lead to Our Greatest Gains. Obstacles force us to take massive action or regrettably, concede defeat. It the same process the Navy Seals undergo. The commanding officers test their resolve to decide if the men can deal with dire conditions. Life prepares you for success by forcing you to reach beyond your comfort zone. It poses challenges to nurture your resilience, though you may realise at some point that the goal or dream is not what you really want. Most people have dreams they aspire to, but few have the indomitable will to succeed in the face of obstacles.

Success Shapes Character

As the saying goes: to the victor go the spoils. The human will compels you to persevere in the face of adversity. It lights up the flame of your spirit and sends you forth to meet challenges armed with courage, strength and resilience. Without these powers, you are at the mercy of conceding defeat because of weak motivation. With a powerful will, there is determination and decisiveness to your actions. You are resolute, firm and compelled to overcome life's obstacles, knowing they are placed in your path to nourish you. "It's not what happens to us, but our response to what happens to us that hurts us," avows the late author Stephen R. Covey in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. You should avoid short term disappointments and smaller prizes to achieve your long-term goals. It is said success is a journey not a destination. Whilst an overused cliché, there is merit to its meaning. Without setbacks and failures, you are unable to develop the fortitude and strength to meet your dreams when they arrive. Success shapes a person's character.

It sharpens the saw as Stephen R. Covey states. Therefore, connect with a powerful Why and nurture it if you wish to succeed. I assure you, when the time is right you will be greeted with the finest victory imaginable.  Remember: what you seek is seeking you, as long as you stay committed to the path. The will to succeed is apparent when you face your challenges and setbacks. No one grows in perfect conditions. In moments of darkness, you either rise above your impediments or cower in defeat. The American New Thought author, Napoleon Hill, writes in The Law of Success in Sixteen Lessons: "Until a man selects a definite purpose in life he dissipates his energies and spreads his thoughts over so many subjects and in so many different directions that they lead not to power, but to indecision and weakness." An Optimistic Outlook Success coaches refer to will as grit: the inner resolve, courage and strength of character to persist through adversity. To develop an indomitable will and harness an optimistic outlook, irrespective of what transpires. Optimism is an inner knowing that conditions will turn out for the best regardless of what lays ahead. Similarly, develop a powerful will through your accomplishments and seeing the process through to completion. I'm reminded of the story author Napoleon Hill tells of a prospector who spent months digging for gold, before giving up and selling his equipment to a junk man. The junk man made millions soon after discovering a trace of gold less than a metre from where the prospector had stopped digging.

An indomitable will is essential for success otherwise you succumb to the pressures of life. The will lights the flame of hope and courage and encourages progress. It is the American author and speaker John C. Maxwell who captured it perfectly in his book The Difference Maker: Making Your Attitude Your Greatest Asset: "Most people want to change the world to improve their lives, but the world they need to change first is the one inside themselves." So, do not wish for better conditions or an easier path because you will become listless and discouraged. Persevere and endure your challenges. It would be remiss of me to come this far and not mention Professor of Psychology Carol Dweck who states in Mindset: How You Can Fulfil Your Potential: "The passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (or especially) when it's not going well, is the hallmark of the growth mindset." An indomitable will to succeed will lead you far in your journey of self-discovery. The desire must emerge from within and be matched with the same need for air, as told in the opening tale. Only then will you realise the narrative of your success story is far greater than you ever imagined.

How to Turn Life's Lemons Into Lemonade

By Pierre Pinkerton | December 06, 2017

This article is a shift in terms of focus. Although relevant for the fields of business development and growth, the theme of this article is on personal development before business development. I've always been a huge fan of sales gurus and personal growth experts like Zig Ziglar, Earl Nightingale, Norman Vincent Peale, Dale Carnegie, etc.

While initially thinking these guys were full of 'it' and irrelevant; now, with time and experience having matured me to a reasonable level (I hope), I've come to not only attest to truths that these guys and others live by and teach, but also their beliefs and wisdom are very relevant and timeless.

One of the core truths taught and deeply ingrained into my subconscious is the following: failures in life will either strengthen and motivate you to grow and develop or they have the very real ability to break you down.

What do I mean when I say failures in life? Well, quite simply, these are the moments in our lives that the results and outcomes come totally different and often more severe than we had anticipated. Whether it's a job loss, divorce, eviction, bankruptcy, failed job interview, a blown investment, or being defrauded by someone, we all face these challenges at one time in life or another.

The key that I've learned about these negative life events is that you have A CHOICE in how you respond. The thing that keeps most of us in 'ruts' of negativity, isolation, and hopelessness is that we allow ourselves to be motivated by fear in a wrong way. Rather than thinking about how worse and severe a negative life event can become, why not choose to be motivated by the fear of the situation to take hold of hope. Choose to take a strong hold of hope and never let go no matter how bad it hurts or feels. Now here's another underlying truth in being motivated by the fear of negative life events: don't labor your mind or put a heavy burden on yourself for solving your problems overnight; instead, relax, rest, and remain positive.

What I've learned and continue to grow in is that more than likely the answer needed to resolve the problem(s) is right under your nose or floating somewhere in your mind. How do these 'uh huh' moments happen? Truly in the most odd ways possible to be completely honest.

There's no secret formula (or at least one that I've found that works) or secret sauce that induces these moments, but here's one way to put yourself in the state of mind to increasing their frequency: relax, live life, serve others well, listen more than you speak, forgive completely, and love sincerely. jerichobizfinance.com is an online platform that specializes in providing expert level advice and guidance to the micro entrepreneur in the areas of accounting / finance, operations, management, sales and marketing, human resources, and lending in order to help grow your business and maximize your cash flow
